The 2006 North American Sieger Show (NASS) was held at the Purina Farms facility just outside
of St. Louis, MO. and put on by the GSDCA-WDA. The drive was 18 hours and we arrived just in
time for it to get cold and rainy. Thursday and Friday events proceeded despite the rain and
chilly temperatures. The sun came out Saturday and Sunday for quite pleasant days even though
the ground was still muddy from the previous days’ events. The depth of quality dogs in every
class continues to improve at each Sieger Show. I had five dogs entered. And under the
conditions they had to show under they all worked hard and did well.

Roxy was entered in the 9-12 mo. female and gaited her way through the mud and rain for second
place, VP2, in a class of 30, under SV Judge Ernst Ruckert. It was very good showing for her
in a tough class.
-
I showed Nikola even through she had blown her coat and lost some of her color as her heat was
just starting, so not really in show condition, but she needed the experience and training.
Anyway received SG15 out 30 dogs judged under SV Judge Ernst Ruckert.

In the Working Male class, (69 entered, 11 no shows and 10 failing the bitework) Xorro passed
the Performance Test and gaited with 48 others in the ring to receive V2 from SV Judge
Rienhardt Meyer. A very nice showing for the big guy.

In the veteran’s classes (dogs over six years old) I entered Fox against three other past
VA dogs and his condition and spirit while gaiting got him first place under SV Judge Hans-Joachim
Dux. He continues to amaze at 7 1/2 years. In the female veteran’s class, Xena did her usual
great gaiting to take second place behind a prior siegerin. She also has held her age well and
still enjoys the ring.

- WDA Kentucky-Tennesee Regional Show was held in Franklin, KY hosted by the Ky-Tn SchH Verein
and was presided over by SV Judge and Kormeister Dieter Oeser. As usual, it was well run and lots of fun.
One of the main things I wanted to accomplish was to get Debby’s Lifetime KKL1 breed survey. On Saturday
with the temperature around 90, we complete the Protection portion of the exam without a problem. TSB
pronounced with out. Then the rest was followed with the conformation portion which she also performed
very well. On Sunday the regular Conformation Show was held and Roxy and Nikki both did very well with
VP1 and SG1 respectively. Roxy for this show moved up a class by being one week over 6 mos. But she worked
hard and in the end her conditioning and her natural easy gait put her on top against the big guys in the 6-9 mos
female class. Nikki is starting to get the hang of ring work now and her fast gait is very eye-catching, she got SG1
in the 12-18 mos female class. Debby had to go again in the working female class she worked hard and gaited well
but wasn't in the best show condition and took V2. Fox was first in veteran's class and received a glowing review
by the judge. It was an successful road trip of 32 hrs. round trip. Mission accomplished.

- USA Southeast Regional Show was hosted by South Atlanta Metro Club and was presided
over by SV Judge Peter Messler . The event was well run and had about 50 dogs entered. My
puppy Roxy for her first time in a show ring did very well, she got VP1 in the 4-6 month female
class. Nikki in the 12-18 month female class also did well for her first time with a SG1. Both
these girls are high energy dogs and I was pleasantly surprised how well they performed. Fox
and Xena went along for the ride. Fox exhibited in the Veteran’s class. Even at nearly seven, Fox
still has the spirit and looks to compete with the young dogs, in fact the judge said if he had
been in the working class he would have won. Xena, also nearing seven, still loves the ring and
gaits like a dream, she earned V2. It was a good start for the youngsters.

obedience score of 91.
