2005 Recap
The year 2005 found us traveling a lot to shows, trials and training, but I look back and say in was a very good year. Both Fox and Xena got VA’s at both the Sieger Shows. After a total of 5 VA’s for Fox and 3 VA’s for Xena, I think it’s time to retire them from the show ring and make way for younger generation. They set the target high and I feel privileged to have worked with them and to be their servant.
Onja got her SchH 2 & 3 and IPO 3 and Fox got his IPO 3 also this year. What a joy to work and train these dogs.
October 14-16, 2005 - WDA Sieger Show
We drove the 20 hours to Pittsburgh to enjoy the cool weather and meet and compete with friends and follow GSD enthusiasts at the WDA Sieger Show. There were close to 450 dogs entered from about 17 countries. Many very good dogs were on hand to compete in all classes.
In the working male class, 60 dogs entered, 13 pulled and 5 failed the performance test. Fox did his usual very good performance test and proceeded to the conformation ring, where he posed and gaited this way to a Excellent Select (VA) rating of VA7 under SV Judge Heinz Scheerer. This was his 5th VA rating at a Sieger Show! What a outstanding dog and show career.
In the working female class, 58 entered, 19 pulled and 2 failed the performance test. Xena again did an excellent showing in the performance test and proceeded to the conformation where her powerful flowing gait put her in the Excellent Select (VA) group even through she was out of coat and had some remnants of motherhood. Xena earned show rating of VA7 from SV Judge Leonhard Schweikert. This was her 3rd VA rating at a Sieger Show.
August 2005
Onja obtained her IPO3 at the Lake Valley Schutzhund Club under USA Judge Carla Griffith.
July 2005
Onja obtained her SchH3 title and Fox his IPO3 at the Fayetteville Schutzhund Club under SV Judge Bogdan Sergo.

What a great day at the office! I took Fox, Xena and Bonja to Carson City for the big show and all performed very well. Both my working dogs performed outstandingly in the bitework to earn praise from the judges and earn their way into the conformation ring.
In the working male class, 47 entered, 5 were no show/pulled and 11 failed the bite work. Fox gave an excellent showing and after much gaiting; he was awarded the VA5 rating by SV Judge Wilfried Scheld.
In the working female class, 36 entered, 6 failed the bitework. Xena gave a spirited presentation and awesome gaiting to earn a VA3
In the 4-6 month female class, Bonja put on a spirited presentation of her own to earn VP5 out of 29 entered with 5 no shows. SV Judge Ernst Seifert was the judge for this class.
